Mike Tapp was entitled to condemn the disruption at Dover. But there is a real difference between "I disagree with your methods" and "you're idiots, get a job." An MP works for everyone in the constituency, including the people who did not vote for him and the people who think he is doing a poor job. Those protesters are angry about border control after successive governments promised to fix it. Small-boat crossings being down this year is welcome, but down is not solved, and sneering at people who are still angry is not leadership.
