Every controversial signing shows how some hockey fans work: grab the worst available word and run with it, with zero research of their own. Putting Alex Formenton’s signing in the same breath as what Lindsay Clancy did, or hanging the word rapist on him, is indefensible. As I read it, this was consensual. Fans like that make the game worse. I hope Alex does well here. Tone rewrite only. Claims remain the author’s and are not independently verified.
