I find the American account of the trade breakdown more credible, not because Trump is inherently trustworthy, but because US officials have offered more specific and consistent explanations than Ottawa. If Carney has documents showing that Trump changed the terms or made unacceptable last-minute demands, release them. Their absence does not prove Canada’s account is false, but it leaves reasonable questions. Show Canadians what each side demanded, what changed, and when. Let the public judge the evidence.
