People protested Mayor Mamdani yesterday, on the 25th anniversary of 9/11, not over anything he has done but because he is a Muslim in a city struck by Islamist terrorists 25 years ago. That was anti-Muslim bigotry, and it had no place in New York. That New Yorkers elected a young Muslim to lead their city a quarter century after 9/11 is something the whole country should be proud of. Prejudice against his faith did not stop a majority from giving him a chance. Patriots love Americans in the real world, whatever their race, religion or creed.
